The artwork depicts couples dancing on an outdoor terrace beneath the newly constructed Sydney Harbour Bridge which opened in 1932. The artwork was created by Percy Trompf in 1935, which he designed to attract European and American travellers. He portrays Sydney as a sophisticated and modern city along the lines of New York, London or Paris.
