Wally played Rugby League in the 1970's/80's & 90's. A Highly decorated Australian National Captain. Regarded as one of the greatest RL players ever.

Nicknamed "The King". He represented Qld 31 times in State of Origin Matches & Captained 30, winning Man of the Match on 8 occasions. 

Inducted into Australian Rugby League Hall of Fame in 1999. Also became the 6th member of the Immortals.

In 2016 became the 38th Legend of Australian Sport at Australian Hall of Fame Awards
